Solskjaer, who spent almost his entire playing career with United, has transformed the club since his arrival, turning a dull and defensive side into one which entertains with fast-paced football. And Kanchelskis, who won the Premier League title twice with the Red Devils in the early 1990s, reckons the time is right for the club to hand him the reins permanently. In an exclusive interview with 888sport, he said: “At this moment they are best leaving him to coach and giving him a chance.“This is an excellent time for Manchester United with good results and a good atmosphere in the dressing room.“Everything is working right now so why change and go for a big name? They are better off believing in him.” And Kanchelskis was keen to express his delight at Solskjaer’s attacking football, which has made the club far more entertaining to watch since Mourinho’s sacking. He added: “I am very, very happy about Solskjaer because hes a good coach. He has got Manchester United in his bones and he knows exactly what is needed.“He was at the club playing for a long time and now Im so glad that hes back. “This is a good time for him and theyre winning every game and playing very well. It was so sad how the club was under Jose Mourinho, and the results, but now it is an excellent time.”Manchester United have scored 23 goals in nine Premier League matches and Kanchelskis believes the way the club are playing now is reminiscent of his time at Old Trafford in the mid-90s under Sir Alex Ferguson. He added: “Everybody looks back to 1993 and 1994 when United had Eric Cantona, Mark Hughes, Ryan Giggs, myself, and Roy Keane and it was a more attacking style of play. It was excellent football and we had some great teams.Cantona (L), Giggs (trophy), and Keane (R) combined to help United dominate the Premier League during the 90s3

“People liked the style of football demanded by Sir Alex Ferguson who was a great coach. He would insist we win, win, win every match and we attacked every match. Now it is like it was before under Ferguson. Mourinho didnt like attacking football but Solskjaer does and the people are happy again.
